Hey friends! We're dropping a spontaneous bonus episode recorded right after Sam returned from her first visit to Utah since moving away six months ago.
Sam found flying back into Utah surprisingly emotional - feeling a mix of complicated emotions seeing the familiar landscape below. While she loved seeing family and friends, she discovered something important: the place felt familiar but no longer felt like home.
She shared how she was sad to say goodbye to people she misses, but was ultimately ready to return to her new life - confirmation that her big move was the right decision.
Our Existential Spiral
Our conversation (predictably) spiraled into existential territory. We discovered we're both deeply nostalgic people - getting emotional about the past even when we don't particularly miss it.
Things got hilariously chaotic when Sam mentioned scientists finding a habitable planet 120 light years away. While Sam was fascinated by the concept that looking at planets through telescopes means seeing them as they existed in the past, Amanda found the entire topic brain-melting and overwhelming.
